The twosome looked like they were having a whale of a time as they played with two year-old Jaxson and four-year-old Jazmyn at Paradise Cove.

And both David and middle son Romeo were both caught taking in the sights from their courtside seats.

As the applause rang out at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last weekend, musical megastar Adele stepped up tearfully to the microphone and paid a moving tribute to her mother.
‘I just want to say, Mum, your girl did good!’ the 23-year-old singer told the world in typically down-to-earth fashion after winning a plethora of awards.
She was referring, of course, to 43-year-old Penny Adkins, the woman who was just 18 when she became pregnant with Adele and single-handedly brought up the child who would become a global superstar.

Adele, aged 4, on a visit to her father Mark Evans' home in South Wales. 'There's so much regret on my part - regret that I wasn't a better father to her. I let her down badly,' he said

Of her father, tellingly, Adele made no mention.
Mark Evans was watching television in the sitting room of his small home on a housing estate in Bridgend, South Wales, as his daughter revelled in the awards being showered upon her thousands of miles away.
The sight of Adele dressed to the nines in a Giorgio Armani dress receiving a standing ovation from some of the biggest names in the music world was almost too much for the 50-year-old plumber, as he was reminded of the blonde toddler who once strummed on a charity shop guitar as she sang to him.

There were, however, summer holidays spent in a caravan in Tenby, South Wales, and days eating ice cream on the beach at Barry Island, Glamorgan where Mark helped his father, John, run a cafe at the pleasure park.

But the alcoholism which took over his life in the late Nineties, after his father died from bowel cancer at 57, all but destroyed his relationship with Adele.

Mark’s self-pity is of little relevance now to the 23-year-old daughter he let down so badly.
Feted on both sides of the Atlantic, her second album, 21, which has sold 6.4 million copies worldwide, was last year’s best-selling album. As befits her new-found wealth, the millionairess recently moved in to a £6 million mansion in West Sussex.

'I believe Adele was born to sing. It's in our blood. I was a choirboy, and my mum still sings in Penarth Baptist Choir, so perhaps she gets it from her,' said Mark

‘She’s my little girl. I’d be so proud — not because she’s Adele the superstar, but because she’s my daughter.’
Whether father and daughter will ever be closely involved in each other’s lives remains to be seen.
‘What’s done is done,’ he says. ‘I can’t turn the clock back. I know I was a rotten father, but, in the end, she’s made it.

For not-so-little Suzie tipped the scales at a whopping 12lb 12oz at birth, making her the heaviest baby girl ever born in Britain.
But at least Suzie was in a rush to come into the world – she was born naturally after a labour lasting a mere 44 minutes.
Miss Tevendale, who is 5ft 4in tall, gave birth only with the aid of gas and air, and did not need stitches, even though Suzie was nearly twice the size of a normal newborn. Most mothers of heavy babies have a caesarean.

The 26-year-old and her partner, James Gzowski, 25, an IT technician, were told to expect a large baby, but the midwife could not believe her eyes when Suzie arrived at Great Western Hospital, Swindon.
‘I think she was shocked,’ said Miss Tevendale. ‘They’d guessed at 10 to 11lb. When they saw her weight was 12lb 12oz I think they thought the scales had broken.’
She added: ‘When the contractions started it all happened quite quickly.
‘At one stage the baby’s shoulder got a bit stuck but that was only for a matter of seconds. I didn’t really notice a lot of what was going on because James was cuddling me.’

Miss Tevendale, from Swindon, has two other children with her previous partner and they were also big babies. Vincent, now six, weighed in at 10lb 10oz, and Violet, four, was 11lb 2oz.
‘It’s like I just give birth to three-month-old babies,’ she said. Since her birth three weeks ago, Suzie, who is already 2ft tall, has been wearing clothes for babies aged three to six months.

A review in the journal Nutrition Bulletin found drinking three or more cups of black tea a day protects against heart disease and two or more cups a day may protect against type 2 diabetes.

Almost 80 per cent of Britons are tea drinkers and 165million cups are drunk every day.

Carlos 'Halfy' Rodriguez, who also goes by the name Sosa, lost a large portion of his brain and skull in a crash after flying through his car's windscreen and landing head-first on the road.
In a new video he has used his appearance and story to warn others not to drink and take drugs.
Doctors were forced to cut away large amounts of flesh and bone to help him survive and he has since been able to continue his life in Miami, Florida.

Mr Poli, 31, who lives in the area, was returning from a trip up a nearby mountain at dusk when the mist came rolling in.
He said: 'I was coming down from Mount Bertiaga.
'It was about 5.15pm and I was still about 1,000 metres up when my eyes were caught by a sea of fog that was slowly enveloping my little country, like a floating island.
'I stood and watched in awe. I was deeply touched by what I saw so I took this picture, maybe one of the most beautiful I've done.'

It may not have been the most appropriate choice of phrase. But when Nik Wallenda was told he was to be allowed to attempt a tightrope walk across Niagara Falls, he said: ‘I’m thrilled to death.’
If the 33-year-old daredevil survives his 1,800ft-long walk on a two-inch thick rope over the famous site, he will become the first to ever achieve the feat.
After months of campaigning, Mr Wallenda was yesterday given permission by Canadian officials to attempt the death-defying stunt this summer. He had already secured support from the American side of the falls last year.

Mr Wallenda, who comes from a long line of circus performers, will walk across the most powerful waterfall in the world on a wire rope without a safety net.

It is the first time anyone has attempted to walk on a tightrope over the actual waterfall – in 1859 the acrobat Charles Blondin crossed the gorge on a tightrope, but his stunt was downstream from the actual waterfall.

Mr Wallenda, who lives with his wife Erendira and their three children, has been tightrope-walking since he was two. In 2008 he walked and then cycled across a high-wire suspended from skyscrapers in Newark, New Jersey.
The feat won him a place in the Guinness Book Of Records for the longest and highest bicycle ride on a high-wire.
He currently holds six Guinness World Records.

A bus driver who used his vehicle 'like a weapon' to ram a cyclist off the road has been jailed for 17 months.
Reckless driver Gavin Hill, 29, swerved into cyclist Phillip Mead after getting into an argument at a roundabout in Bristol.
Mr Mead was flung over his handlebars and catapulted 10ft across the road. He suffered a broken leg and fractured wrist.
As he lay on the ground in agony, the driver simply straightened up the single decker bus and continued on the journey.

Hill pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm and was jailed for 17 months at Bristol Crown Court yesterday.

The court heard how Hill got into a heated exchange with Mr Mead at the St James Barton roundabout in central Bristol at 8.30am on April 5 last year.
Mr Mead is said to have tugged at one of the bus's windscreen wipers before they both moved away from a set of traffic lights.

Mr Mead lies on the ground in pain after the attack but as can be seen from the CCTV the bus driver straightens up the vehicle and continues towards the traffic lights

In a CCTV clip shown to the court, the cyclist is shown riding in front of the Bugler Coaches vehicle before the bus pulls out to overtake him.
But the bus then suddenly swerves to the left - knocking into Mr Mead and sending him sprawling across the road.
Mr Mead, a father of two, spent two weeks in hospital and had operations to repair his left knee and wrist following the incident.
He spent six weeks in plaster and was not allowed to cycle for four months but is now back on his bike and commuting to work.

The computer programmer, who lives in of St Anne's, Bristol, with wife Samantha, said: 'I think he meant to brush against me and give me a fright.
'I don't think he set out to break my bones, or at least I like to think not. I remember losing my balance and rolling over a couple of times.
'I tried to stand up and could see that my bike was under the bus between the front and back wheels.

A businesswoman slipped and fell over in the background of a live TV broadcast because she was using her phone as she strolled.
On the video the woman can be seen walking wearing a black jacket with a bag over her shoulder as she crosses a square outside an office block - with her eyes down on her phone.

She does not notice the three steps beneath her and falls to the ground, ending up lying on her side on the floor.
Members of the public rushed to help her but she did not his her head and sat up straight away looking dazed.
The entire incident was captured by Canadian TV station CBC which was at the time doing a report from outside the building in Ontario on government austerity plans.

And last week she found an egg with white speckles at her coop on the same day that snow fell.

At first glance, this photo appears to show an early morning sightseer enjoying the views from an English pier.
But some believe it may in fact be the eerie ghoul that has haunted fishermen along the Somerset coastline for years after it emerged the pier was closed off to the public when the photo was taken.
And student photographer Matthew Hales, 17, insists the man wasn't there when he took the picture of the incoming tide for his A Level coursework on an early morning trip to Clevedon, Somerset.

So it wasn't until he checked the individual frames that he realised he had captured a ghostly male figure standing on the Victorian pier at 6.45am - when the pier was closed off to the public until 10am.

'The technique I was using captures everything which happens for 30 seconds, so he must have been stood there for at least that long to appear in the picture.
'However when I checked the frames before and after there was no sign of him or of the figure walking to or away from the location where I seen him.'

Researchers have found that the circadian clock - the genetic mechanism which regulates our sleep - controls the level of a gene vital to our immune system.

Scientists from Yale University linked the gene TLR-9 to the cycle in mice.
When expressions of the gene were highest, it was able to respond best to bacteria and viruses.
Similarly, the mice responded better to infection and vaccinations.
Disruptions to the cycle can effect the expression of the gene, making us more susceptible to illness, reports journal Immunity.
This not only suggests that lifestyle disruptions like long-haul air travel and jet lag may contribute directly to illness, it also suggests that there may be ideal times of the day to receive vaccinations.
Professor Erol Fikrig said: 'People intuitively know that when their sleep patterns are disturbed, they are more likely to get sick.

Realistic: Hero has been drawn with a staggering 3.2million dots

At first glance, this picture might just looks like a photocopy of a man's face squashed up against a photocopier.
But look more closely and it becomes clear it is actually made up from a phenomenal 3.2million tiny dots.
Miguel Endara from Miami, Florida, spent almost a year creating this 11in by 17in portrait of his father - meticulously positioning each tiny dot by hand.

The image shows the artists father, and took more than 11 months to complete

Mr Endara said: 'I'm a great admirer of stippling, so I decided to create this portrait of my father using this technique to experience this incredible art form for myself.
'I've always wanted to pay tribute to my father for being a great person.
'His personality is warm and unquestionably friendly, and of course very playful - as you can see in the unflattering drawing he agreed to participate in.
'We scanned a series of images of his face, and the final portrait is an amalgamation of those photos.'

The amazingly detailed illustration was done entire in a single Sakura Pigma Micron pen with a nib of just 0.2mm

A video of Mr Endara's epic efforts has become an internet sensation with over 6million views

Over 11 months, Miguel spent 210 hours painstakingly completing the picture using a single Sakura Pigma Micron pen with a nib of just 0.2mm.
He added: 'The number of dots is an approximation, not an exact number. But it's a very, very close approximation.
'I filmed myself in just about every section of my drawing and got an average of 4.25 dots per second, which translated into 3,213,000 dots if you multiply that by 210 hours, which is what I logged in for the drawing.'
Now Mr Endara's video has become an online sensation, attracting more than 6million views in two months on video sharing site Vimeo.

Entire housing estates built during the country's boom years have been left abandoned, bricked up and now on sale for almost half their original price.
One such settlement is Sesena, dubbed the Manhattan of Madrid for its towering apartments and proximity to the capital, where 30,000 people were due to live.

But Christina Aguilera has just released a few extra pictures in a bid to drum up interest in her $13.5m listed Beverly Hills mansion.
The singer paid $11.5m when she bought the former Osbourne family residence in 2008.
Aguilera's decided to wash her hands of the property last year just weeks after her divorce from Jordan Bratman, and a week after her arrest for public intoxication.

However it has yet to pay off, and has languished on the market.
The Mediterranean-style mansion is described as being decorated with an eclectic mix of Gothic, burlesque and contemporary styles.

She was raised by a single mother in a series of down-at-heel apartments in the London hinterlands. Even in the first flush of fame, with a multi-platinum selling album and a raft of awards to her name, Adele Adkins chose to live with her mum, Penny, in a poky flat above the This, That And The Other Discount Store in West Norwood.
And even when she did get her own place it was a bedsit. Now, after picking up six Grammy Awards this week, we can see a seismic shift in the circumstances of our nation’s most celebrated vocal talent.

Those pragmatic surroundings may have been the ideal environment to inspire the songs of heartbreak which make up 21, the show-stopping second album which has established her as the biggest star in the music business bar none; but there is nothing understated about her latest billet.

At the tender age of 23, this plain-spoken Londoner has recently taken up residence in a ten-bedroom, grade II-listed mansion in the Home Counties.
Complete with a brace of swimming pools — inside and out — the sprawling estate is set in 25 acres of prime West Sussex pasture, along with tennis courts and a self-contained staff cottage.

How much use these facilities will receive remains to be seen (she jokes that nine of the bedrooms won’t be used), but there can be no mistaking the statement: Adele has very much arrived. A world renowned photographer has spent over ten years building a 35-foot long camera by hand.
Dennis Manarchy has constructed the first-of-its-kind camera to travel around America and photograph the faces and history of vanishing U.S. cultures in their natural environments.
The 'Eye of America' is 12 feet tall, 35 feet long and eight feet wide; resulting in negatives that measure six feet tall and capture incredible visual detail.
Mr Manarchy said: 'The huge negatives allow for 24 feet tall prints with such pristine detail that you can see the fleck of an iris, a single eyelash on a child's face or the individual pores on our skin.'

The camera is currently in the prototype stage but upon completion Manarchy will undertake his upcoming 'Vanishing Cultures - An American Portrait' project.
He will haul the camera over 200,000 miles across 50 states with the view of creating a collection of photographs and stories that will celebrate and pay tribute to the history of American cultures that have shaped the nation.
Mr Manarchy plans to shoot photos of Eskimos, Native Americans, cowboys, Appalachians, Cajuns, recipients of World War II medals of honour and many more.
The final version of the camera will be built to look like a traditional folding bellows camera.
Mr Manarchy's prototype was recently proven to be a success when he photographed 91-year-old Virgil Poole Jr - one of the first Tuskegee Airmen also known as the Red-Tails.

Mr Manarchy and his team spent two-days preparing the camera with two people operating inside the camera using night vision goggles to hang the film.Mr Manarchy worked on the outside with the subject refining the focus and toning the lighting.
He said: 'Over my 30-year career I have been obsessed with creating the "perfect" photograph and I'm more critical of my own work than anybody else.
'After the trip I will be displaying all of the 24 feet photographs in stadiums across America alongside the negatives and people's stories.'

The camera will also be exhibited in order for people to learn how cameras work first-hand. The back of the camera opens allowing people to walk through and is retrofitted with a large plasma screen so people around can view portrait sittings in progress.
Project Director Chad Tepley said: 'Seeing an image come to life after working on this project for so long and hearing people's amazing stories is really unique.
'We are getting lots of feedback from people around the world who want to be involved in the Vanishing Cultures project.
'The scale of this project will bring amazing stories of American cultures and groups to everyone's doorsteps.'

A close look at a newborn's hand can show much testosterone the child was subjected to while in the womb, new research has found.
A child’s index finger to the ring finger ratio plays a role in the shape of a face – and it can be seen even before a boy hits puberty.
Digit ratio is non-invasive and easy to measure, and has the potential to provide clues about an individual's prenatal history.

Handyman: A study in the Asian Journal of Andrology found a correlation between finger length and the length of a man's penis

The research found that if the index finger is the same size or longer than the ring finger, the child is more likely to have a narrower chin and a more feminine face.
But if the index finger is shorter, the boy’s face will be rounder and have a more masculine look.
Researcher Sonja Windhager, an anthropologist at the University of Vienna, told LiveScience: 'The overall shape patterns associated with high and low digit ratios depicted in our sample of boys closely resemble the ones found for adult men'.
She added: 'In an ongoing study, we are now collecting data of adolescents to compare the magnitude of shape difference associated with [second finger to fourth finger ratio] before and after puberty'.
And that’s not all the fingers show.

Last year, a study in the Asian Journal of Andrology found a correlation between finger length and the length of a man’s penis.
Men whose index fingers are shorter than their ring fingers may have longer penises, according to the study out of South Korea.
Tae Beom Kim at the urology department of Gachon University Gil Hospital in Incheon, South Korea, said: 'According to our data... the shorter index [second] finger than ring [fourth] finger you have, the longer stretched penile length you have'.
Previous studies have shown strong evidence that prenatal testosterone may determine finger development as well as penile length, a relationship that Kim and his colleagues launched the study to focus on.

The study involved 144 men suffering from urological problems that did not affect the length of their penis, which was measured under anaesthesia.
Thus, combined with other information, digit ratio offers the potential for clinical usefulness, wrote McQuade in an email reply to questions from Reuters.
Female index and ring fingers tend to be about the same length.
A 2010 study said that men with long index fingers have a lower risk of prostate cancer.
Researchers at Britain's Warwick University and the Institute of Cancer Researcher found that men whose index finger is longer than their ring finger were one-third less likely to develop the disease than men with the opposite pattern of finger length.

Meet Britain's new fattest woman - who weighs 40 stone and is so big that she has not left her house in four years.
Brenda Flanagan-Davies, 43, has never once sat in her taxpayer-funded living room because it takes too much effort for her to walk there from bed.
Once as heavy as 45 stone, Brenda is now the heaviest women in the UK following the death of 45-stone Sharon Mevsimler in 2010.

Reinforced bed: Brenda spends her life in her bedroom - with a fridge full of snacks at her side. She spends a lot of time watching the television and has never even been in the living room

The former shop assistant, from Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, eats more than 6,000 calories per day - including nine chocolate bars and three litres of fizzy drinks.
The recommended daily calorie intake for women is 2,000.
Brenda is virtually bed-bound by her extreme girth and is so addicted to food she even has a fridge next to her reinforced bed crammed full of chocolates and soda.
Now after years of being confined to her tiny bungalow, Brenda is begging for help after doctors warned her 'lose weight or die.'

She said: 'I spend my life in bed - that's not a life. I have tried countless diets but I can't stop eating. I can't walk 20 feet to my shower without getting out of breath.
'I hate this life. I want to have children while I still can, but I'm not healthy enough to get pregnant.
'Doctors have warned me my weight could eventually kill me - I'm putting so much stress on my organs. But food is an addiction I can't fight. I need help.'

Huge meals: Brenda's daily menu includes a large pizza, chips, six bottles of fizzy drink and up to nine bars of chocolate

Amazingly, Brenda insists that is healthier than what she used to eat before - causing her to be her heaviest weight of 45 stone in 2006.
She said: 'I used to eat a couple of bacon rolls plus a full English for breakfast, and I've cut back on takeaways.
'To me, food is like a drug. I am constantly craving chocolate and sweets.
'I get tired easily, so every day I drink a litre and a half of diet Coke and the same in diet Irn Bru. I pick diet to save on a few calories.'

Obese: In six years Brenda's weight has ballooned by 11 stone and she has never even been into her own living room because she is too big

'I would eat whenever I was sad, happy, lonely or depressed. And the heavier I got, the sadder I got, so I just continued to eat more.'
In 1989, aged 18, Brenda got her first job as a shop assistant at a Topman in the Gateshead Metrocentre.
She said: 'I quit after a year of working full time because I found it so tiring being on my feet all day. It was torture being surrounded by skinny, pretty girls out shopping with their boyfriends.

Small meal: Brenda was overweight as a child and saw her size balloon in her 20s as she turned to comfort eating

Brenda didn't work again until 2000, when she was hired at her local Wok And Roll takeaway shop.
But she quit after just four months because she didn't like it.
At one point doctors prescribed Brenda course of weight-loss drugs which initially seemed to help.
Brenda said: 'I lost four stone quite quickly but when the course finished I put twice that on again.

40 stone: During one trip out with her husband Ronnie, Brenda's weight broke the suspension on the vehicle

'Once I went up to meet a boyfriend's parents. They were really nice but outside his house someone called me a fat cow. It destroyed my confidence and all I could think about was going home and hiding.'
Then six years ago, at a community centre day out, that Brenda met her husband, retired labourer Ronnie Davies, 65.
The two hit it off and Ronnie, who is still living down the street from Brenda, proposed in 2010.

Brenda, a size 9XL, wore black trousers and smock because that was the nicest outfit she had that fit.
She said: 'Like all women, I used to dream of a white wedding in a church. I can at least say I have found the man of my dreams.'
These days Ronnie is responsible for caring for Brenda, along with a team of hired carers.
The carers cook her normal-sized meals, but Brenda dips into the chocolate as soon as they leave.
Devoted Ronnie washes up to four loads of laundry per day as her bed sheets and clothes quickly become drenched in sweat.

Last year Brenda was moved out of her bottom-floor flat into a council-owned bungalow which has been equipped with a bariatric bathroom and reinforced bed.
It took a team of five people to get her into a specially reinforced ambulance and transport her to her new home.
The footage was filmed for new Channel 5 programme Big Body Squad, which kicks off on February 22 at 8pm.
The programme follows teams of paramedics, firemen, carers and other specialists as they cope with the task of transporting and treating the extremely obese.
Brenda said: 'I was so terrified of leaving the house and I still can't believe they got me out.
'Now I'm happy with my new house and my husband, but I'm still screaming inside about my situation.
'I put on a brave face to the rest of the world but this can't go on.'
Big Body Squad is on Channel 5 at 8pm starting on Wednesday, February 22.

A booming voice interrupts my reverie, telling me to put my hands on the floor and lift my body up into a handstand. I can’t do a handstand! Welcome to anti-gravity yoga — the class where you do your yoga hanging upside down. Otherwise known as ‘aerial yoga’, ‘zero-gravity yoga’ or ‘yoga with wings’, it’s the latest, oddest fitness trend to hit Britain from New York (where all weird and wonderful fitness fads are born).

It sounds nuttier than Lady Gaga’s wardrobe — but yoga bunnies can’t get enough of it. Mariah Carey is a fan, and the Made in Chelsea cast were filmed giving it a go.
It’s the brainchild of Christopher Harrison, the man who co-founded the acrobatic arts troupe Cirque de Soleil. Converts say hanging upside down refreshes the body’s systems, improves blood flow and stretches out the spine.
It’s suitably gentle for beginners, but if you stick with it for long enough you get ‘abs of steel’. Or so I’m told. I am yet to be convinced I am in possession of any tummy muscles at all.
But maybe doing the lotus position mid-air will help me find them? I decide to find out.

While there are now classes cropping up all around Britain, the first person to bring flying yoga to our shores was Aisha Patterson, who has taught yoga to celebrities including Pamela Anderson and Jerry Hall. She offers me a private session at the swanky Chelsea Club in London.

But amazingly, I was so absorbed in what I was doing that the 45-minute class went in a flash. So yes, as gimmicky as this class might sound, I am sold. Me, my weak core, saggy bum and hunched shoulders are running away to join the yoga circus.

But it seems unlikely the eurozone will also have a happy ending as countries plunged into bitter in-fighting last night as Germany was accused of ‘insulting’ Greece and trying to force it out of the single currency.

This is the moment a terrified mother and her helpless baby were almost swept away by a rapidly rising tide.
The young mother is shown losing her footing while pushing her child in a buggy across a causeway in the Firth of Forth.
